Our Methodology

Job
We will qualify & help you refine your requirement based on our knowledge of the skills required, budget, company position & wider market conditions. This typically takes place in a face to face meeting where your Skillquest consultant will work through a detailed fact find with you in order to build a profile of the right candidate(s).

Search
The quality of the search is ultimately governed by the quality of the initial brief. Once a detailed brief has been taken your Skillquest consultant will build a shortlist of pre-screened, qualified candidates using the following methods

  • Hot Candidates (candidates we have identified to be in the top percentile of their industry)
  • Our market leading database of pre-screened passive candidates
  • Social Networking/Traditional Networking
  • Advertising on all the major job boards

Screen
Your Skillquest consultant will take a detailed biography of the candidate using our specially designed candidate screening tools. After gaining a full picture of their skills, experience, career drivers and aspirations and an understanding of which organisations/environments they will flourish in. Following this the candidates are then shortlisted against the initial brief.

Where appropriate we will conduct technical, behavioural, psychometric tests and depending on the brief we may also pre-reference our candidates. We always go above and beyond the text of a resume and spend time to understand the full picture of the candidates we work with.

Managing the Process
At Skillquest, we are experts in the managing the end to end recruitment process. Our process management is truly seamless by encouraging & facilitating effective communication between all three parties. Working with Skillquest ensures that when a client is looking to make an offer, it will be one that everyone concerned is happy with. This happens through the following steps:

  • Preparation of client and candidate for interview. (Good preparation leads to good interviews).
  • Timely feedback
  • Clear & Transparent expectations from both client & candidate perspectives

Like any process each individual part can be broken down into subsections, rest assured your Skillquest consultant is experienced to handle the most complicated recruitment brief.

Negotiating/Brokering the offer
Good negotiation is based around consistency of message & mutual understanding of expectations. At Skillquest we believe our methodology, if followed offers the highest chance of both the right candidate is getting an offer and the right offer being accepted.

Transition
Candidate’s engagement with a new employer does not begin at start date but on the day they accept the offer. We provide guidance and support to our candidates throughout the resignation process to ensure and encourage our clients to communicate to new employees at this time to help the transition go as smoothly as possible.

Post Placement Care
Often overlooked by recruiters is the importance of Post Placement Care. At Skillquest we follow a structured follow-up process that has been designed to ensure your new hire becomes a successful new hire and the candidate becomes engaged, productive and happy in their new role. This allows us to offer a 6 month rebate period (twice the industry standard!) as we believe the effective communication our process creates facilitates a successful outcome for all parties.
