Datawarehousing Architects x3 (Consulting), Melbourne to $150K (Neg)
$100,000 - 150,000 (pa)

  • Growing company with excellent training & career development opportunities
  • Technically strong Datawarehousing/BI professionals with the Consulting gene
  • Strong academics (1st Class degrees, PHD's) or relevant certificates a bonus

Melbourne

My client is a world class BI/Data warehousing Consulting firm with a plethora of blue chip clients across Australia and beyond into the wider APAC arena. With an outstanding reputation in the market-place they are famed for their ability to deliver, management of clients & their expectations, their commitment to their peoples development as Consultant's & their continued growth as an organisation.

Because of this, I am looking for top class Data warehousing/BI Consulting Architects (or less experienced Data warehousing Designers) to join their team. I am ideally looking for candidates with strong academics (1st Class degrees, relevant Masters Degrees, PHD's etc.) and a proven track record in the Data warehousing/BI arena. I am less concerned by years of experience - role content and achievements are of more relevance. Candidates should have deep skills within both the technical ETL/OLAP style back end data warehousing as well as experience with the BI/Analytical/Reporting/Insights space as well as the UI/Portals side. That said candidates with strong expertise in one area looking to round off their Data warehousing/BI experience should definitely apply as the opportunity to build new skills exists here.

Strong architecture skills are preferred with expertise in tools such as SAS, Teradata, Oracle, Informatica, Data stage, Ab Initio, Hyperion etc. and a proven track record in a Solutions related role, designing/architecting/developing complex BI/DW frameworks & 3-Tier Architectures in diverse technology landscapes. Whilst deep expertise in a given arena is welcomed candidates must be client focused, technically agnostic when it comes to solutions & be willing to learn new technologies. Strong design skills (logical and physical design models - LDM, PDM, and Semantic Layer Models) are essential as is deep experience of Data Migration and Data integration issues, challenges and opportunities.

I am looking for candidates capable of delivering on highly technically complex BI/DW projects but this alone isn't enough. I am looking for true Solution Architect qualities, with candidates having strong client facing skills, a Consultative approach, good stakeholder management skills & first class presentation and communication skills. The ability to work well under pressure, manage scope and varying client expectations, overcome roadblocks & create workarounds is key. This is true Consulting so ideally you will come from a Consulting background in the BI/DW space, tier 1 or 2 (e.g. IBM, Bearing Point, Logica, CSC, Oakton, Dialog etc.) or have strong end-user experience and be able to evidence the Consulting 'gene' & the ambition to forge a career in Consulting.

This is customer facing work so candidates may work across a range of industries (e.g. Banking, Finance, Telco, Pharma etc.) utilising a myriad of BI/DW technologies so candidates must be flexible with regards to industry and technology. Whilst my client tries to limit travel and has hubs in both Sydney and Melbourne the potential for travel is a fact of life as a Consultant and potential candidates must be prepared to travel if required.

Ideally I am looking for well-rounded DW/BI Solutions Architects who have worked on the architecture, design & development of a data warehouse in its entirety & have experience in complex data modelling, ETL integration projects or development etc. Candidates who aren't quite to this level yet but have the academic smarts and drive to succeed in a company known for being the best then please apply.

In return you will be working for a growing company where you will get to learn from the very best, be given meaty roles on serious projects immediately & work for a management team that value their staff and invest seriously in technical and commercial training, staff socials/functions & trying to create
