Contracting through Skillquest
If you are a new contractor with Skillquest Pty Ltd then there are 3 different ways that we can work together as outlined below.
PAYE
You are paid by us the agency who will pay you net of tax and superannuation upon receipt of an authorised timesheet. You wont have to worry about producing invoices or annual accounts.
Limited Company
Essentially you set up, own and run your own limited company which carries all of the legal responsibilities associated with owning a company. Skillquest Pty Ltd can give you advice on how to do this.
Umbrella/Management Companies
A good method of working if you are new to contracting or do not want the responsibility of your own company. Under this arrangement you are employed by the umbrella company who will charge a fee for their services but will enable you to maximise your net pay. Skillquest can recommend companies that provide this service.
Before you start contracting with us
Whilst we try to make contracting through Skillquest as simple as possible there are some steps we need to follow and documents that need to be supplied to get you started.
Signed Agreement for the Supply of Services + Schedule
A standard Agreement for the Supply of Services with a Schedule that is specific to the actual contract will be sent to you via the post or email. This needs to be checked, signed and returned to us. We will then countersign this original copy and return it to you for your records, while we will retain a photocopy for our records. If your contract is extended you will receive only a Schedule which you should handle in the same way.
Proof of Identity and Right to Work in Australia
To comply with regulations we need to retain proof of identity of our contractors and ensure they have the right to work in Australia.
Proof of Academic/Professional Qualifications
We may ask to see copies of these certificates.
Two references
Skillquest agrees with its clients that it will, whenever possible, have taken up two references on all contractors prior to them starting an assignment. So, if it is your first time working through skillquest, we will ask for names and contact details of referees.
Bank details
We will ask you to confirm all of your personal details as well as bank details on a "Starter Form" to ensure you are set up to be paid correctly.
